Our younger group, Grades 3-8, is focused on learning how to train. The group’s, motto is; “do your best and don’t worry about the rest”. Our goal is to foster a love of running from any age that will remain with the athlete all their life. This group has the opportunity to train up to 3 times per week, year-round if desired. Our MTA club athletes perform well at their school track & field and cross-country meets giving them a great sense of accomplishment. They also have the opportunity to represent Toronto West Athletics and compete in Minor Track Association (MTA) track & field and cross-country events throughout the year. Athletes in Grades 7 and 8 have the opportunity to race in Athletics Ontario events. The training expectations of this group are based on age and ability and the athletes are well prepared for a high school training program.
